Overview

Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil - gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

TRC Companies, Inc., is seeking a Project Manager/Permitting Lead to join our Permitting, Planning and Licensing practice. The successful candidate has the ability to work remotely or report to a local TRC Florida Office. They will be involved in a wide variety of energy, development, and infrastructure-related projects including electric transmission, natural gas pipeline, renewable energy (wind/solar/storage), transportation, infrastructure, and other development projects.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include development of siting/licensing petition and application information, logistical and financial management of projects and tasks, and leading and supporting local, state, and federal permitting and siting efforts. Additional duties include supporting proposals and providing direction to team members.

  • The successful applicant will be involved in a wide variety of energy-related projects including power generation, electric transmission, natural gas pipeline, and renewable energy (wind/solar) generation projects. Applicants will be permitting and managing projects at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Be able to effectively coordinate field work, direct and support other technical staff, interact in the eld with clients, stakeholders and contractors. Prepare proposals, reports, and schedules, reviews and approves invoicing.
  • Abide by Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or related field, and a minimum of 10 to 12 years of post-degree experience in permitting, siting, planning, and/or project management.
  • Excellent data collection skills.
  • Technical writing and communication skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and project profitability while meeting client needs.
  • Applicants must have experience permitting projects at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Able to effectively coordinate field work, direct and support other technical staff, and interact with clients, stakeholders and contractors.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and deliver exceptional client service and leadership, while sometimes working under aggressive schedules and controversial projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preference will be given to applicants with significant Florida ERP process experience, USACE wetlands programs, federal clean Water Act programs, biological resources, and/or environmental planning experience, including: USACE Section 404, 10 and 408, Section 401 WQC, NEPA, FERC, and municipal planning and zoning.
  • Preference will also be given to applicants that have experience working on energy, transportation, and solar/renewable development projects, a well as solid experience with Florida state and local permitting and siting.
  • Successful applicants will be able to interact in the field with clients, contractors, and environmental agency representative.
Compensation:
In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $120k - $160k.Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
