Job Summary

Office of the Provost Planning and Finance is currently seeking Student Office Assistant to join our team of professionals.

The Student Assistant in the Office of the Provost Planning and Finance position entails:

  • Greeting visitors and guests who come into the office.
  • Answering phone calls on the main office number.
  • Monitoring the general office email inbox.
  • Filtering and addressing or redirecting questions, concerns, comments, or complaints to the appropriate staff member in the office or university.
  • Providing administrative support to the Office of the Provost Planning and Finance staff which includes printing, copying, faxing, scanning, proof reading and other duties as assigned.
  • Effective logging and tracking of documents that are received by the office or interoffice mail.
  • Maintaining the Academic Affairs upload log updated and assisting with submissions to the PSHR ImageNow system.
  • Preparing coffee, water, and food (if applicable) for meetings.
  • Receiving, sorting, and distributing mail.
  • Signing and receiving packages.
  • Making deliveries and escorting guests across campus when necessary.
  • Providing support for events hosted by the Office of the Provost Planning and Finance.
  • Keeping track of supplies and maintaining the front of the office, kitchen, and the storage rooms.
  • Assist with scanning projects.

  • Requires completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.

Who May Apply
  • Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
  • Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
  • Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule

Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.

$12.00/Hour
