SUMMARY: The Quality Control Inspector III assists the Quality organization in verifying routine product conformance to design requirements and providing objective evidence of results. This includes performing audits, surveillance, and monitoring related to received material, and identifying and documenting discrepancies that require segregation and control due to nonconformance. This role performances all preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance, product review and acceptance, and process verification. Under limited supervision, inspects incoming parts/material, special requests/orders, and other requirements with use of micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc. This role also supports the internal quality team in QMS maintenance and execution. Additional responsibilities will be to drive a culture of continuous improvement through all supplier communications and interactions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports the quality organization to ensure system processes are effective and aligned to the requirements of third-party quality standards.
  • Conducts dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levels; Conducts visual inspections for
    obvious defects.
  • Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company
    Quality standards; communicate with vendor as needed.
  • Disposition and control of non-conforming product.
  • Review and approval of parts/material from suppliers.
  • Perform First Articles for submission to customers.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity and assist with RCCA activities pertaining to Inspection.
  • Assist direct supervisor in coordinating updates to policies and practices and ensures they are flowed down to each supplier, and to other functions as needed.
  • Works directly with engineering, supply chain, and product line team to understand material requirements for new product and supplier requirements.
  • Works closely with quality leaders and other functional leaders to ensure both customer and company requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

  • 5+ years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience
  • Previous aerospace inspection experience
  • Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures
  • Fluent in English (i.e., reading, writing, and verbal communication)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
  • Required to pass documented color and near vision exam.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, FAA 0056B, and/or AS9100 series requirements
  • Experience in the usage of calipers, ring/pin gages, etc.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma / team concepts
  • Advanced GD&T Skills - Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems or similar
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to self-manage, set priorities, and demonstrate follow-through.


PREFERRED
REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant program
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Risk Management, quality, or quality auditor certifications
  • Formal Quality and/or Process Improvement certification from accredited institution. LSS, etc.
  • Knowledge of Quantum Control Software

(INCLUDE LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, SECURITY CLEARANCE, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS, ETC.):

  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
  • The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. *
