ROLE: Deburr Technician will use pneumatic tools to blend machined metal precision aircraft and military parts and break sharp edges per customer blueprint specifications using proper Deburr Tools and techniques. Use of measuring instruments to check parts verifying customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Mount, install, align and secure tools, attachments, fixtures and workpieces
  • Lift workpieces to machines manually, with hoists or cranes
  • Grind, deburr and form parts using expanders, hot dye presses and rolls
  • Maintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.
  • Scope work and final touch ups including; polishing, blending and edge breaks.
  • Hand and power tool deburring
  • Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
  • Select appropriate tools for a job

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated work in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
  • Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in aerospace deburring with critical dimensions
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers, micrometer, bore gages, thread gages) to take accurate measurements
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Knowledge of metal properties
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES:

  • Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Mathematical Skills: Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes excessive. Examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth-moving equipment)
