Jet Avion Corporation is located at HEICO's corporate headquarters in Hollywood, Florida, and specializes in the supply of various platforms of aircraft/engine PMAs.

ROLE: The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the receiving, picking and shipping of orders. Must be attentive, organized, efficient, energetic and hardworking. Must have strong professional communication skills via email, phone and in-person.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Supervising:
  1. Train, delegate and review team member activities according to procedures, expectations and performance standards. Work with management to improve processes, tools and workflow.
  2. Assist team members to review and resolve potential issues with a patient mentoring approach.
  3. Assume responsibility for troubleshooting issues that requiring extensive research. Communicate with customers, Sales, Accounting, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Management and Logistics team members via email, phone or in-person, as needed. Strong professional communication skills are required.
  • Receiving:
  1. Coordinate the distribution of inbound shipments to departments and individuals in a timely manner. Communicate with recipients via email, phone or in-person, as needed.
  2. Identify the means of receiving material (including computer system receipt, generate documents & labels) and routing to the appropriate department/individual.
  3. Keep receiving and staging areas organized, marked and accessible for others.
  • Shipping:
  1. Responsible for pulling parts, packaging and labeling from inventory for work orders.
  2. Communicate special handling needs, packaging needs and customer requirements to stockroom & shipping teams with clear instructions, both written and verbally.
  3. Coordinate the preparation of shipping documents, including packing slips, certificates, commercial invoices, SLI, BOL and labels as required by customer, carrier and procedures.
  4. Determine shipping method options, coordinate carrier and prepare according to requests.
  5. Coordinate and ship individual shipments, including documents, hardware, personal items, and oversized shipments in a professional manner, respecting privacy and professional discretions.
  6. Maintain compliance with all current import and export regulations for all products and shipments.
  • Warehousing:
  1. Operate machinery for moving products, such as hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, conveyor, etc.
  2. Bulk package shipments onto pallets, including wrapping, strapping, labeling & shipping.
  3. Keep stockroom and extended storage areas organized, marked and accessible for others, including shelving, pallet racking, and mezzanine storage.
  4. Perform accurate inventory checks and documents, as needed and directed.
  5. Route materials, along with documentation, to the appropriate department/individual.
  6. Find, assign and communicate a location for materials in staging areas, as needed.
  7. Maintain appropriate levels of supplies. Replenish as needed.
  8. Coordinate with co-workers to accomplish large tasks efficiently.
  9. Dress appropriate for office work environment while maintaining strict attention to safety.
  10. Assist Stockroom and Facilities, as needed.


EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years of related experience in stocking, shipping, or logistics.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Current forklift license preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES:

  • Language/Communication Skills: Must be fluent and able to read and write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as emails, report and correspondence. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Able to use handheld electronic scanners.
  • Math Skills: Ability to use mathematics to solve problems.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to problem solve and provide solutions.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, strict attention to details and ability to multitask and prioritize as necessary, with minimal supervisory direction. Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must work well and communicate with others.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate a forklift truck and get certified.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Maintain a high level of professional integrity and trustworthiness. Willing to work hard and long hours, when needed. Must be available to work overtime and some Saturdays, as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Performing the duties of this job will require to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and reach with arms, hands and fingers. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance version, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and ability to adjust focus. Must be physically capable of routine bending to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Example: metal manufacturing machinery, large earth-moving equipment, forklifts, etc.
