ROLE: The Master Scheduler is responsible for creating, executing, and monitoring a schedule management system for shop production. This position is also responsible for reviewing blueprints and product specifications to accurately determine amounts of materials needed. Documents overall material needed to process orders. Requires ability to understand engineering documents and work closely with members of the engineering team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Utilize plant fabrication lead times and historical performance data to create manufacturing schedule.
  • Collaborate with supply chain to maintain production schedules through assessing production demand and driving to mitigate material shortages.
  • Evaluate and determine estimated equipment set-ups, cycle times, and work center hours.
  • Serve as a liaison between customer service personnel and purchasing on the scheduling of raw material purchases.
  • Interface with production supervisors to schedule builds and make adjustments based on material and resource availability.
  • Monitor material flow to ensure shipping goals are met and collaborate with engineering personnel on the creation of production bills of materials.
  • Support operation sequencing and implementation of part demand to streamline assembly and improve production timeline.
  • Communicate part status and estimated completion dates to leadership upon request.
  • Actively support productivity improvement efforts and work to streamline processes.
  • Interface with organizational stakeholders to better understand business goals and revise master schedules as needed.
  • Collaborate with information technology personnel to analyze and create enhanced functionality in manufacturing applications.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or an Engineering discipline and/or combination of at least 5 years of relevant experience and education.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Production Control / Material Planning experience required.
  • Estimating / Quoting experience desired.
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word etc...

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES:

  • Language: English - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of basic Microsoft Suite -Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and Viso. Experience with MRP or conceptual understanding of resource and capacity planning.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical analysis. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Organizational Skills: Must have excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail required.
  • Technical Skills: Must have excellent project management ability, this includes: multi-tasking, vendor management, customer management, forecasting, and effective communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
