Required Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Experience: 3 years Ocean Export is preferred but not necessary

Languages: English

Licenses, software, etc: Microsoft Office; FBS, and Hazmat Certified preferred

Skills:

  • Ability to work, with minimal supervision, maintaining productively and efficiency when faced with stressful situations, including maintaining effective interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work within, and communicate effectively with, customers, all levels of employees and management
  • Must have good oral/written communication skills and type at least 40 wpm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide full customer service: Answer all phone calls transferred to you; Answer all emails pertaining your island before clocking out time; provide quotation; Assist to any releases or consolidation or any customer needs when in presence
  • Liaison between, warehouse, terminals, dispatch and island agents on a daily basis, to ensure cargo is loaded, stowed and received by customer in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate the flow of cargo from receiving to export and on island landing.
  • Checking that invoices provided for export are correct and have full final destination details.
  • Scan all invoices and supported documents into GDZ document tab
  • Maintain knowledge of changing tariffs, rates contracts and promotions.
  • Create all documentation required for export, such as bills of lading, manifests and invoices; and or any other documentation required on specific cargo (IMO's, Bonded, Parcels and Back Loads etc.)
  • Provide all documents requiring AES to the SED department 24 hours prior of loading time of Vessel(s)
  • Issue load guides to load containers/Flat racks/ Reefers and vessel deck (before cut offs).
  • Manage consolidations from start to finish.

  • Assure that all documents are accurate according to company standards, procedures and regulations.
  • Reporting delays/short shipments/ cargo reports or any changes in a timely manner to management /customers or agents.
  • Providing vessel documents to designated area prior to sailing (upfront at the receptionist desk/outside picnic table or hand them to an Eller Driver or marine operator).
  • Adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety/security laws and policies
  • Report market trends relating to import export, such as new developments for new business/customers.

  • Maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of all relevant information and communication technology and other systems within the import/export function.
  • Providing QUALITY customer service answer/reply to all phone calls/ Voice mails and emails by the end of the day.
  • Knowledge of Hazmat (IMDG/CFR) regulations for transportation of hazardous cargo.
  • Send checked Final stow plan to terminal for final loading of the vessel if any changes a phone call need to be made to Terminal Managers or Supervisors.
  • Clock in times might vary due to certain finals being sent before vessel loading.
  • Must have open communication skills with other traffic team to discuss space on vessel when sharing.
