The Data Analytics team leads the creation and management of standard reports for all Abarcans and clients to use. They review the raw data to supply updates for audits, create predictive models, and identify potential operational and clinical opportunities.

As Senior Manager for Analytics, your role will be an integral component of the organization's departments, delivering valuable Information through Intelligence and Informatics, providing direct support to diverse internal departments such as Client Success, Network, Clinical, Finance, among others.

The fundamentals for the job...

  • Lead the planning and execution of enterprise-wide analytics projects and strategic initiatives, translating business goals into actionable solutions.
  • Manage development efforts as a liaison with business and technical partners, including managing stakeholder expectations, requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and user adoption.
  • Prioritize team workload, manage customer expectations and relationships, and maintain alignment of deliverables with business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Support customer engagement and satisfaction by maintaining effective communication and transparency of work and deliverables with core stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization and effectively, both verbally and visually, communicate findings and insights to non-technical business partners.
  • Independently engage with business leaders to understand market-specific levers and constraints.
  • Leverage enterprise reporting tools to rapidly deliver data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Facilitate cross-team project collaboration between state-based health plans and business units, including IT, Finance, Network Development, Clinical Operations and Payment Integrity
  • Develop reporting packages that include anticipated high use and high value reports for large key clients.
  • Support department and partner teams through adhoc analysis as required.

What we expect of you

The bold requirements and nice to haves...

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business, Statistical Analysis, Healthcare Management or a closely related field (In lieu of a degree, equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered.)
  • 8+ years of direct management experience within reporting or analytics roles in the healthcare, pharmacy benefit management or insurance industries.
  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, large databases, data verification, data management, table creation and indexing, query optimization, utilization of stored procedures, developing complex queries using SQL or other coding languages, and lead or management experience.
  • Expertise with development of KPIs, executive and operational dashboards and departmental scorecards
  • Experience in health insurance products, health care operation and health care data analytics and reporting
  • Experience within database management (e.g. SQL Server), in T-SQL, SSIS and SSAS as well as with analytics and reporting tools, (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, and Excel). Working knowledge of SQL/querying languages. Experience with table creation and indexing, query optimization, and utilization of stored procedures.
  • Experience with operational and analytical leadership within a health plan setting.
  • Experience with source code development tools and data warehousing technology.
  • Experience in communicating to a C-suite audience and ability to drive consensus on complex issues.
  • Experience identifying opportunities and developing improvements on existing technologies used for data analytics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, bilingual Fluency in Spanish and English is required for this role.

Nice to have...

  • Experience with financial reporting, project management as well as change management.
  • Experience with healthcare areas such as clinical and claims data, utilization, and risk adjustments including quality measures (such as HEDIS, NCQA, Medicare Star Rating System, QRS)
  • Experience with data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or statistical modeling.

Physical requirements...

  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
