Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in the renewable energy, transmission, transportation, oil and gas, and manufacturing industries. POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Southeast Strategic Account Director to join our Planning, Permitting and Licensing practice within the Southeast (offices Tampa, FL, Maitland, FL, Norcross, GA or REMOTE from a nearby location).


Responsibilities

Business Development/Commercial Sales

  • The main focus of this role is "Strategic Growth in the Southeast." This individual will be responsible for selling environmental planning and permitting services. When feasible, this individual should look to sell all of TRC's Sector Services, e.g., Environmental, Power, Infrastructure, Field Services, and Intelligent Grid Solutions (known as "OneTRC").
  • Develop and implement strategic growth plans for renewables and energy transition based on the individual's knowledge of markets traditionally employing environmental and permitting services.
  • This individual would preferably have experience building and maintaining a book of business in excess of $2M and would be expected to further build, develop and maintain one (annual sales/bookings goal of $2 million per year).
  • This individual will be a key stakeholder and will directly interface with clients regarding their satisfaction with TRC's services.
  • Attend technical conferences, showcase our services, enhance TRC's brand, engage with clients, and represent OneTRC.

Project Delivery, Execution, Program Management

  • Serve as point person for solicitation requests and dissemination of requests to the correct person in operations. Operations staff are tasked with doing the work/heavy lifting associated with responding to a proposal. This role will require championing efforts around positioning and capture.
  • Oversight of proposal response and project delivery teams in terms of providing coaching and guidance.
  • Serve as a Program Manager for Southeast based clients.
  • Delivery/execution of project work for existing and new clients.
  • Maintain a billable utilization target of 35%.
  • Possess strong verbal, written, presentation and excellent client management skills; demonstrated ability leading and managing complex projects; as well as being goal oriented, quality focused, and have demonstrated success with creating and fostering a team environment.
  • Have a significant role in maintaining quality and profitability on TRC's projects, as well as assisting with managing and developing the skillsets of Project Managers and other employees and resources to ensure our projects are executed with a high level of efficiency and technical excellence.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate is a motivated professional that will thrive in a client facing role, one that has well established client relationships in the regional marketplace for renewable and energy transition clients and is excited about the prospect of joining a firm that is focused on "Strategic Growth in the Southeast." They will also have a minimum of the following skills or experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related fields.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience performing and managing the planning permitting, compliance, and engineering studies for environmental/energy/transportation projects.
  • 15 + years of environmental consulting experience.
  • TRC's strategic clients operate in the utility, conventional and renewable energy, private development, and oil and gas sectors. A strong understanding in these areas is required.
  • Proven track record with business development, business management and oversight of regional businesses.
  • Experience managing cross disciplinary scientific and engineering teams and front-end project development projects.
  • Strong business acumen and attributes, coupled with a commitment to TRC Values: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Creativity, Accountability, Teamwork and Passion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science or Masters of Business Administration Degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience.
  • Experience with DOE related projects.
  • Experience with Energy Transition (Hydrogen, CCUS, Woody Biomass, etc.) projects.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors
