Overview

TRC is looking for an experienced Outreach Specialist to assist with the promotion of residential energy efficient products sold through select retail channels. Our goal is to encourage the purchase of products that produce energy savings at home. You will use outreach training at stores and events along with proper placement of utility signage to create visibility and knowledge of Mass Save Energy Efficient Products Program.


Responsibilities

*THIS IS A HYBRID/FIELD POSITION THROUGHOUT THE GREATER BOSTON AREA*

Description of Duties:

Visit retailers, dealers, and other industry partners in the assigned territory to help promote the sale of energy efficient products on behalf of our clients. Perform the following tasks:

  1. Introduce retailers, dealers and manufacturers to the clients' programs; establish relationships and actively maintain those relationships over time
  2. Identify new partners and promotional opportunities to enhance program results and negotiate promotions
  3. Keep informed of new products and market information of interest to our clients
  4. Spot check special promotions to ensure compliance with agreements between partners and our clients
  5. Distribute and place Point of Purchase materials, rebates and coupons in accordance with best practices conveyed through the POP Guidebook and Program Management
  6. Work with retailers and management to resolve issues with placement in stores
  7. Maintain knowledge on energy efficient products and programs provide training to retail staff to help them upsell these products to their customers
  8. Staff special events and educate consumers about the Programs and energy efficient products, this may include occasional evening and weekend events as needed
  9. Perform annual and ad hoc product shelf/floor surveys, these may occasionally require overnight travel
  10. Collect and enter all required data relating to activities in the retailer/promotion database, Captures, NEAL-NCP; or other applicable data collection tools
  11. Participate in team meetings and share information and best practices with Program Management and Team
  12. Track and correctly record program expenses and submit weekly expense reports for reimbursement

Qualifications

Requirements for Position:

  • Strong customer service, sales or marketing skills
  • Good organizational, planning and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Proficiency with computer and mobile technology devices
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Access to reliable transportation as a primary duty of this role is to travel to multiple sites through the work day

  • Able to travel daily within assigned territory and occasionally outside of the territory (mostly to adjoining territories or states)
  • Must live within the assigned service territory
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education

  • Outgoing personality and high energy level
  • Retail sales, management or marketing experience
  • Knowledge of consumer products particularly lighting, appliances and consumer electronics
  • Presentation and training skills
  • Experience interacting with diverse populations and demographic groups
  • Multilingual skills - particularly Spanish or Asian dialects
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Creative thinking

Salary and Benefits

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $50,000 - $60,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
