What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming's Miami, FL or Tampa, FL office is looking for a Traffic/ITS Design Engineer (Electrical Engineer).

Job Description:

  • Prepare and review Lighting plans, reports and/or shop drawings
  • Prepare and review Signalization plans, reports and/or shop drawings
  • Prepare and review Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) plans, reports and/or shop drawings
  • Perform photometric calculations in AGI-32 software
  • Generate reports such as Lighting Design Analysis Reports (LDAR) and Power Design Analysis Reports (PDAR).
  • Perform electrical calculations supporting the lighting discipline such as load analysis, voltage drop, etc
  • Performing site survey of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical and control systems.
  • Prepare for and attend field visits and meetings during design and post-design phases.
  • Preparation of project specifications.
  • Support or Conduct Plans Reviews for ITS, signalization, and Lighting Plans.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFI's, prepare plan revisions.
  • Support Project Manager in all design and production tasks.
  • Design of Signing and Pavement Markings a plus
  • Managing and delivering on multiple project commitments, both new and existing
  • Supporting internal teams and servicing outside clients directly
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers and technical staff
Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent preferred. BSCE will be considered if career focus was in above job description.
  • Florida PE License preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience designing and producing ITS, lighting, and signalization plans.
  • Proficiency in CADD systems software such as MicroStation, ORD, Geopak, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience working with local public agencies and FDOT
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
