This position will involve pre-construction and construction phase services and is considered a leadership role managing Cost, Quality, Schedule, Risk, and Safety on major construction projects in the Aviation sector. The position will require work in the field and in field office on job sites located within the Miami metropolitan area.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a Senior Construction Manager for aviation projects, ensuring project delivery, budget and quality standards are maintained.

  • Oversee project inspectors and monitor progress of project construction activity.

  • Review utility coordination and repair requests to resolve conflicts and track through completion.

  • Perform contract documentation duties, which may include field measurements of pay items as well as daily inspection reports.

  • Attend and facilitate various meetings; prepare meeting minutes.

  • Assure documentation and accuracy of monthly progress payments.

  • Monitor Contract quantities and prepares Change Directives and Change Orders as needed.

  • Perform oversight of materials testing.

  • Coordinate with staff, clients, and contractors.

  • Communicate with project key stakeholders, including local residents and business owners. Works to help resolve disputes.

  • Recognize when problems develop and initiate guidance for corrective actions.

  • Coordinate activities with onsite inspectors and inform Project Manager of construction progress, problem areas as well as progression of those problem areas.

  • Prepare contracts for close-out, including as-builts and punch list review.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • University Degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering, or demonstrated experience managing large airport infrastructure projects is preferred.

  • A PE designation is preferred but not required.

  • CCM Certification or similar is desired but not required.

  • Relevant professional experience with the concepts and practices within the aviation construction field, demonstrating diverse experience in public and municipal sectors associated with planning, design and construction of airport infrastructure projects.

  • Must have the ability to assist in the resolution of project issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Experience with local agencies preferred.

  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safe work practices.

  • Must have good communication skills and be able to maintain legible and accurate records.

  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
