REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Program/Project Coordinator.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, public administration or closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)

Requires two (2) years experience in a staff or administrative capacity managing special projects, programs or business operations appropriate to the area of assignment or closely related experience OR any equivalent combination of relevant experience and training..

General Description
The Program/Project Coordinator in the Port Everglades Business Development Division is responsible for supporting the Assistant Director of Business Development in business development, international trade, and other activities as assigned. The position works under the general supervision of the Business Development Managers.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, public administration or closely related field.

Requires two (2) years experience in a staff or administrative capacity managing special projects, programs, or business operations appropriate to the area of assignment or closely related experience OR any equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.

Special Certifications and Licenses Required
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver's license based on area of assignment.
Ability to secure and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification card (TWIC) within 60 days of employment and for the duration of employment.
Ability to secure and maintain a valid Seaport Business Purpose Credential for the duration of employment.

Preferences
2+ years of professional experience in economic, marketing, or trade analysis
Multilingual - written/verbal (Dutch, French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Portuguese, or Spanish)
2+ years of professional experience in the maritime or seaport business
Master's degree or higher in Business, Economics, International Trade, Public Administration, or a closely related field
Six Sigma Certification
4+ years of Project, or Contract, or Grant management experience
2+ years of supervisory experience
Project Management Professional (PMP)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

Coordinate marketing presentations and informational materials in support of Port Business Development programs; participate in stakeholder outreach programs and training activities and provide technical assistance to internal and external customers.

Monitor, analyze, and report on global trade data, cruise industry trends, and other information that can be used to support the Port's business development efforts for both cargo and cruise.
Identify current and near-term trends, opportunities, and emerging markets related to new business opportunities.

Prepare statistical and other analytical reports as needed.

Participate in various trade show expositions and/or conferences, which will call for local, domestic, and international travel; assist in evaluating and identifying growth opportunities to increase and achieve targeted international goals through developing and executing various sales and marketing strategies for assigned markets.

Complete monthly fiscal-related reports, trip reconciliation, p-card statements, and administrative duties; and provide a general source of destination information for phone, email, and in-person inquiries on the destination.

Supervise an administrative staff member; direct and manage schedule; perform and monitor staff timekeeping and leave requests (KRONOS); and administer performance reviews.

Perform other related work as assigned.
